Professor Christopher Holcombe has been Clinical Director for the Cellular Pathology Department of Liverpool Clinical Laboratories since 2017.
Though Chris’s background is as a breast surgeon, he has held many clinical leadership roles at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, across Merseyside and Cheshire and nationally. Including, Clinical Director for the Breast and Endocrine Surgery unit, Cancer Lead for the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Medical Director for the Merseyside and Cheshire Cancer network.
Currently, Chris chairs the Association Breast Surgery Academic and Research Committee and is deputy chair of NHS England’s Breast Clinical Expert Group.
Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the NHS to the Cellular Pathology department, with the aim of developing one of the best Cellular Pathology departments in the country.
Outside of work, Chris has four children and five grandchildren. He is actively involved in his local church and likes to get away to the mountains whenever possible.
