Ines Santos joined Liverpool Clinical Laboratories as Quality Manager in September 2019.

Born and raised in Porto, Portugal, in 2015 Ines began her career in the UK as a Histology Biomedical Scientist in London until Quality management became her main passion.

In 2017, as Quality Lead at University College London Hospital, Ines supported the Cellular Pathology Quality Manager through the transition from CPA to UKAS accreditation. This vital experience would lead to Ines taking on the Quality Manager post at UCLH.

After experiencing the challenges of being Quality Manager in Cellular Pathology, that included managing the laboratory relocation to new premises, Ines took over as Pathology Quality Manager at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospital in November 2018.

This post provided Ines with ample opportunity to broaden her already expanding skillset following a change of EPR system, local LIMS, and laboratory platforms, simultaneously.

In June 2019, Ines decided that it was time for a new adventure, outside of London, with Liverpool being the overwhelming choice.

Ines believes that Quality is fundamental to ensure patient safety and to provide the very best patient care.

For Ines, it is a privilege to be part of the LCL team, supporting patients across Merseyside, Cheshire, and beyond, through their best and worst moments, on a daily basis.

Outside of LCL, Ines loves a good book, is a massive Harry Potter and Star Trek fan, and loves to discover amazing new places in the North West of England.
