Arti completed her pathology training at Post Graduate Institute, Chandigarh (India), before coming to the UK in 2003. She holds the FRCpath degree and the coveted Royal College Diploma in Dermatopathology, and has been a Consultant in the Cellular Pathology department of LCL since 2014. Arti is the lead organiser of the national specialist Dermatopathology EQA scheme and is a part of the Dermatopathology subcommittee at the Royal College of Pathologists. She has a keen interest in teaching and regularly delivers talks in regional and national dermatopathology meetings.
Arti has held many leadership roles within the department including Dermatopathology Lead, governance lead and deputy clinical director. She took over as Clinical Director for Cellular Pathology in Sep 2020. She believes that the future is both exciting and challenging for cellular pathology, which is sitting at the threshold of some very radical changes, including automation, digital pathology and artificial intelligence. She is committed to help guide the department through the changes which lie ahead, but also to be at the forefront of innovation and technology.
Outside of work, Arti is a mum with 2 kids and likes nothing better than a quiet day curled up with a thought provoking book.
